We can supply and install a range of stove and wood burner parts.
Stove Fire Bricks
Cracked, chipped or missing fire bricks in your stove can result in cracks appearing in the outer steel casing of your stove rendering it unsafe to use.

Fire bricks are designed to provide a degree of insulation and even temperature distribution to the exterior of the stove whilst reflecting heat back into the fire pit area of your stove increasing its efficiency.
Cracks in the outer steel or cast iron skin of the stove are created by irregular heating and cooling of areas of the outer skin where the hot gases and radiated heat can contact it by way of a cracked, chipped or missing fire brick.
We can replace many of the popular stove manufacturers fire bricks for you, or cut replacement bricks on site if your stove has flat fire bricks from which we can create a template.

Stove Fire Rope Seals
It is highly important to make sure your stove is sealed when you close it. Stoves suck air in and expel it up your flue (chimney). If your stoves seals are leaking your fire will be drawing excess air above the quantity it was designed for and this causes the fire to "over-fire" or to rage, making the air controls of your stove less effective. This substantially increases fuel consumption and can have a detrimental effect on the material of the stove due to over heating.
Fire rope becomes compressed over time and usage, reducing its ability to seal the stove. We can test your rope seals and replace if necessary.
Stove door and glass rope seals come in various sizes

Stove Door Glass
Stove door glass can become hazy over time (especially if the wrong cleaning methods have been used) or cracked and broken by falling logs etc. We can supply and install new glass for most makes and sizes of stove.
Most stoves have an airwash control, this can be built in or adjustable. The air wash takes air down the front of the stove door glass keeping smoke away from the glass, depending on the stove it may also be preheated by the fire and eventually burns off most residues collected on the glass.
Clean glass the same way you would clean windows, never scrub with a scourer or abrasive this will score the glass. For hard to shift deposits allow the stove to burn them off through normal use, however if your glass is scratched or scored this may not be possible and it will need replacing.
Clean a small test area in the bottom corner of your stoves glass to see if your cleaning method works and doesn't scratch or score the stove glass.

Stove Baffle Plates
The baffle plate (or throat plate) can be made from steel or heat resistant brick and sits above the fire box area of a stove directing the flue gases forward before they can get to the flue exit at the rear of the stove. The baffle increases the stoves efficiency and protects the top of the stove from overheating which can lead to warping or cracks in the stove skin. We can supply and install new baffle plates for most makes and sizes of stove.
Baffle plates wear out depending on usage (especially if coal is being burnt), if they are steel they can warp out of shape or a hole can be burnt through them, heat resistant brick types can crack and chip just like fire bricks.
Have a look with a torch above the fire box at your baffle plate if you see any cracks, warping or holes it will need to be replaced.
Baffle plate life can be extended by not over-firing the stove (see fire rope seals) and keeping the fire under control.
